The NTU GIEE Non-employment Incentives for 2025 Fall Semester All incentives are based on an applications system and will only be issued after an application is submitted and passed the review. A、 Applicants Qualifications: Only grade PhD 1 ~ PhD 3 and MS1 ~ MS2 registered students (excluding Mainland students) in GIEE who do not have full-time jobs. The “Financial Hardship Bursary” is not subject to the grade restrictions. B、Categories and Amounts: There are three categories. Every applicant can only choose one category to apply. For those who meet the application requirement for “Research Stipend” but apply for “Scholarship” or “Financial Hardship Bursary” and not admitted, the applications will be converted to “Research Stipend”. 1) Scholarship:In principle, the monthly amount is more than NT$3,000 for MS students and more than NT$4,000 for PhD students (subject to budget and may be adjusted and reallocated). Applicants must have a GPA of 4 or above in 2025 Spring semester (the grade sheet of 2025 Spring semester must be uploaded; freshmen entering in 2025 Fall semester are based on their admission scores and are not required to attach the grade sheet). The eligible applicant with the best GPA in each grade and research group will receive this scholarship. 2) Financial Hardship Bursary:In principle, the monthly amount is NT$6,000 (subject to budget and may be adjusted and reallocated). Separate form and attachments are required as listed in the application system. (e.g. certificates of annual income of all family members in 2024, underprivileged certificate or low-income household, etc.) 3) Research Stipend:The maximum monthly amount is NT$2000 for MS students NT$3000 for PhD students (subject to budget and may be adjusted and reallocated). All eligible applicants except the recipients of above two categories can receive this stipend. However, this category may be cancelled due to insufficient settlement funds. ※The final amounts to be issued of each category shall be determined based on both the total number of applicants and the allocated budget. The issued amount of this semester is calculated based on 4 months (from September to December) and is scheduled on 2026/1/15 (the exact date of payment is subject to the school’s operations). 【About the comparison of thesis originality】 GIEE will register the account for students on the Turnint website after receiving the degree exam application documents.
The default email account is your ntu email. Please pay attention to the mailbox capacity to avoid missing system notification emails.
By default, both surname and given name fields are full names. When you receive the system notification email to activate your account, please enter your ntu email address and full name.
If you cannot log in successfully, please click "Forgot Password" to reset it. Please ensure your mailbox has enough space to avoid missing the notification email for resetting your password.
GIEE will set up the thesis comparison courses according to the advisors, and the advisors can also log in to the system directly to view the comparison results.
【Regarding the Oral Committee Name List】 Please submit the Oral Committee Name List in advance (if possible, 2 weeks before the oral exam.)
Please indicate the institution and job title of the oral committee member. Please indicate the non-GIEE committee member in the remarks column (at least one non-GIEE committee member is required).
Non-NTU committee members must indicate the county or city where they will come from and the application hours for parking discount coupons in the remarks column. The maximum application hours for the Ph.D. oral exam is 6, and the MS oral exam is 4.
If the oral exam will be held online, please indicate "online" in the remarks column.
Once the GIEE office receives the Oral Committee Name List, we will send the pdf file of the appointment letter of the committee members to the students within 3 days.
For those who hold a physical oral examination, please go to the GIEE office 1 to 3 days before the oral exam to get the receipts for the oral exam committee members. For those who hold an online oral exam, the GIEE office will send the PDF files of receipts to the advisor. Please ask the committee members to sign their receipts and return them to the GIEE office as soon as possible after the oral examination. |

Eligibility 1.Applicants must be graduate students with formal registration (excluding students from mainland China) at the department. If there are special circumstances (e.g., receiving competitive scholarships), the department will review and decide whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria. Teaching and administrative assistants are limited to students who do not hold full-time jobs outside the university. Overseas students must have a work permit to apply. 2.To enhance the quality and professional capability of teaching assistants, students must complete at least one TA training course (either through the College of EECS or the Center of Teaching and Learning Development)after enrollment. Starting from the 113th academic year, the TA training course will consist of two stages: "NTU COOL online course" + "In-person course," with no makeup sessions available. 【Adjustment to Doctoral Qualification Examination Regulations】 I. "Introduction to Computer Science" has been removed from the Fundamental Subject D (Computer Science) in alignment with the discontinuation of the corresponding undergraduate course. II. For the Nano-Electronics Division, the elective subjects have been adjusted to "2 out of 3 subjects from the nano-electronics curriculum" and "3 subjects from the GIEE curriculum." Course credits are now acceptable for exemption (currently applicable only to the Nano-Electronics Division).

【Graduation Credits Acquisition Review for Graduating Students】 Starting from Fall 2024, to apply for the degree examination, in addition to filling out the "Academic Achievement Record for Graduate Students" (for Master's and Doctoral students), please also complete the attached "Graduation Credits Acquisition Review."
